The first GSM Commander in NZ was sold to Tim and Mel Cumming on 24 September 2009. This is what they have to say:

We purchased the GSM Commander from Innovative Electronics to control Kiwifruit orchard irrigation system remotely. We were after a solution whereby we could remotely start/stop a petrol irrigation pump (including basic fail-safes), switch irrigation valves which control the flow to different orchard blocks and provide information as to the water level available in a storage tank. 

The key to the solution was the ability to control the system remotely, with some confidence that all would function correctly while unattended. This was essential as we live some distance from the orchard property.

We have been very pleased with the outcome we have been able to achieve using the GSM Commander. Not only does the Commander control both the petrol pump and irrigation valves but it also provides feedback via SMS on actions which have been performed successfully or un-successfully.

Innovative Electronics has been an invaluable source of advice through the whole process with much time spend assisting us with the technical and configuration aspects of the project. Their help has been above and beyond and we would like to thank him for this. 

We have found the GSM Commander to be a flexible solution able to accommodate all our requirements. We would recommend it to others looking for a similar solution.
